In the Maya civilization, a tranquil tribe is violently raided by warriors in search of slaves and humans to sacrifice to their gods.
Jaguar Paw, a brave member of the tribe, hides his pregnant wife and young son in a deep pit near their village before being captured while defending his people. An eclipse unexpectedly spares him from being sacrificed, but he must now fight for his life and rescue his family.
